What is Kindermusik?
Kindermusik is a highly creative, developmentally appropriate music and movement program for children newborn through 7. Kindermusik has been around for over twenty-five years. Educators are licensed and trained by Kindermusik International and now number around six thousand worldwide. It is considered the premier early childhood music program. Kindermusik International continually develops and enhances its music and movement curricula by incorporating the latest early childhood development research that shows that active participation in a music program is a powerful stimulant for a child’s total human development. Kindermusik curricula use age appropriate music and movement activities developed by early childhood education and music specialists. Small class size, parental involvement and child-led activities are at the core of every class. Kindermusik exercises the whole brain: sensory, perceptual, motor, motivational, memory, and cognitive. What makes your program different from other Kindermusik programs?
Though all educators are licensed and trained through Kindermusik International, our approach and backgrounds differ. All of our teachers have music and also early childhood education backgrounds, which help us with our mission of providing an early, joyful, and appropriate music experience for your child. We are committed to a holistic and integrated approach to music education. We recognize that play is an integral part of the learning experience as well as a mode of self-expression. We value and nurture the parent’s role as primary educator of their child. We always invite you to try a free class and meet our teachers before you register. In fact, we prefer it! The difference will be seen in our classroom.
Will my young child really get something out of this program?
Absolutely! In fact, you both will. We understand how young children learn and all activities in all classes are age appropriate and holistic (teaching the whole child). Our focus is to build a solid musical foundation. We help children develop rhythmic and tonal competency and also vocal and instrument exploration. We also incorporate physical development, cognitive abilities and build self-esteem. Creativity and curiosity are part of your child’s weekly experience in Kindermusik. Remember, we have four levels: infants through young child where they begin instruction on pre-keyboard, string and wind instruments while learning musical notation.
Why choose Kindermusik? There are so many programs out there…
Kindermusik is one of the few programs where the total development of the child is addressed and the parents are partners in the activities. The curriculum fosters cognitive, emotional, physical, musical, social and language development. We like to say we teach the whole child. We meet each child where they are in their development. Kindermusik fosters a life long connection to music. Kindermusik is a program that offers seven years of age appropriate curriculum so that you and your child can complete this journey through music together. We know of no other program that combines all these benefits.
