Families please note that the tuition price you see when you register for Family Time includes up to two children. The site will only let you register one child for the tuition amount. Therefore when you go into to create and register your family, register the oldest child and complete the registration with one child, you can then call us at 301-805-5936 or email us at info@mrssingskindermusik.com and we will manually register the additional child. Develop a working knowledge of voice development, rhythm, notation, musical symbols and simple instruments in a fun, yet structured environment. Begin to read music, compose and participate in instrumental and vocal ensembles. Study of great composers, including Mozart; world music cultures and the orchestra are also explored. A pre-keyboard instrument , the glockenspiel, is used used in Year 1. Materials include CD, music book, song and worksheets, glockenspiel and carry bag.

Materials include CD, music book, song and worksheets.

Featured this semester is both Native American , Appalachian and African American music as well as the music of Tchaikovsky. Ensemble development continues with the introduction of the two string dulcimer, using chording and strumming techniques. Glockenspiel and other percussion instruments are still used. Vocal development and creative movement are still prominent. Note/staff review, new rhythm values, introduction of time signature and composition are part of this curriculum. Materials include CD, music book, song and worksheets, dulcimer and carry bag.

This two year program, done in 4 consecutive semesters, is the capstone of the music experience utilizing all of the musical concepts we have learned thus far. This older child continues ear training and vocal development and begins reading, writing, and composing music. Instruments introduced to this young musician include a pre-keyboard instrument--the Glockenspiel, 2 string dulcimer and recorder. The group setting of this class develops instrumental ensemble play and joyful participation in group interactive dance and games. This is the place for a young actor to begin, 12 days of an incredible theater exprience. There are skills that need to be learned in the craft of theater, we do just that in a fun and creative way. Taught by experienced educators, actors and singer, we will focus on projecting the voice, creating a character, and learning about stage direction terminology. Movement will be explored as a response to music. Young actors will spend each day playing theater games and building confidence to better prepare for the performance piece at the end . Students will also be in the performance "GREASE" in the Young Artist Theater production to be held Friday, July 31, 2009 onstage at Baldwin Hall in Millersville. Daily session runs from 10:00-12:30 pm daily.
